On Water.
Enjoy the tranquillity of a day’s fishing with miles of the River Dart to set up camp. If you prefer the wind in your hair, the Royal Dart Yacht Club is close by for all your sailing needs, or Dartmouth water sports for the adventurer inside you.
Beaches.
There are a number of prestigious beaches, many with blue flag awards, such as Blackpool Sands and Meadfoot Beach. But do not overlook the sandy swathes of Goodrington Sands, nor the charming sailboats at Hope Cove, a little further south.
Culture.
The South Hams and the English Riviera regions host eclectic food, literature and music festivals all year round – from Dartmouth’s food and music, to the Agatha Christie festival in Torquay. There truly is something for everyone.

There are a number of impressive courses close by, such as Dartmouth and Bigbury, however the Churston Golf Club is a beautiful clifftop

Known as the English Seafood Coast for good reason, the South Hams boasts some of the UK’s finest locally-caught seafood. Much of the fresh cuisine being enjoyed comes straight from the world-famous Brixham Fish Market, just six miles east of The Millpool.
Walking.
The South West Coast Path stretches some 630 miles from Somerset’s Minehead to Dorset’s Poole Harbour. The enchanting stonewalls of Dartmouth castle and tranquil scenes at Slapton Ley nature reserve are just waiting to be explored. Prefer to walk inland? The rugged beauty of Dartmoor is a welcome retreat.
Wildlife.
South Devon just teems with wildlife. At sea, you can marvel at the sight of seals, porpoises and dolphins at play, along with a huge variety of sea birds including the famous guillemot colony at Berry Head. While the Mill Pool itself boasts egrets and herons, the famous River Dart as salmon among its residents.

You can take your pick of theatres, cinemas and live performances close to The Millpool, from the Princess Theatre in Torquay, the Theatre Royal in Plymouth and Northcott Theatre in Exeter, to the distinctive cinema in Totnes. There is something for everyone to enjoy.
